Atletico Madrid have signed Brazilian playmaker Diego from Wolfsburg on loan until the end of the season.
Diego spent the 2011-12 season on loan at Atletico and scored the final goal as the club beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 to win the UEFA Europa League.
The Brazil international has made 15 league appearances for Wolfsburg this season, scoring three goals, but will now join up with Diego Simeone s charges to aid their La Liga title challenge.
It was a matter of time before Atletico reached where it is. I already saw the potential of the team and the club when I was here, Diego told Atletico s official website.
The management team is clear, our coach knows where to take us, so I come to help take this path.
I am very happy to be part of such a strong group, one of the form teams in Europe.
With Diego coming in, Atletico have allowed 20-year-old playmaker Oliver Torres to leave for fellow La Liga outfit Villarreal on loan until the end of the season, while forward Josuha Guilavogui has linked up with Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne on a similar deal.
